My Blessing Today

My day started out very early this morning with a visit to
for an appointment with Dr. M. My eye exams and visual fields are a must every six months due to one of my medications. Dr. M is one of the elite in his field. He has a wonderful rapport with his patient’s. It is rare to acquire an jewel like Dr. M. I am truly blessed with him as my doctor.

During the drive across town I was thinking of how BLESSED I am to have all of the great doctors that I have. I see the white lab coat as their angel wings.
Each and every one of my specialist are providing the best care available for me. Dr. M takes time to answer question and asks about family in a very caring and loving way. It is such a joy each time I have visit with Dr. M.

Today I am so thankful for each of my doctors and pray that God will continue to guide their hands, give them the knowledge needed to diagnose our conditions and prescribe exactly what we need.



Thank You, Dr. M for not only being my physician but, my friend as well.

Memories Of A Special Summer Day

As I sat on the front porch this afternoon with the brisk evening breeze blowing and the sound of a dove singing her song, I began to reflect back on a special Monday, in July of 2006. Bhazy, Khazy, Astormy, Gstormy and I took our first day trip together to Carowinds Theme Park. The children’s eyes were filled with amazement at all of the rides, booths, characters and people moving about. We enjoyed the hours that we spent in the children’s Nickelodeon section . Upon entering this section they rode Boot’s Balloon Ride. This ride scared Khazy because it went up in the air and this was his first time to get on a ride. The merry-go-round was the first place that Khazy and Gstormy wanted to go. This was Khazy’s first time to ride on a horse that moved up and down. At first he didn’t know if he like it or not. Gstormy loved it and wanted to ride the horses several times while we were there. Next, Gstormy wanted to ride on the Backyardigan’s swings. Her face was fixed with a big smile and giggles as they began to move. We stopped for our snack and potty break then we were off to the roller coaster ride. Astormy and Gstormy were allowed to ride however, Bhazy and Khazy were turned away due to Khazy’s height. Our next ride was the Dora Train. All of us boarded the train, took our seats and then the children called out let’s go now ! By this time we were all getting tired so Gstormy and I rode the Pirate’s Ship Ride. Wow…what a ride this was for a Gran like me. : ) It was such a joy to see the children having fun and for us to have the opportunity to experience a trip like this together. We were building memories for the future.

Our next stop was for lunch at the Five Guys Restaurant where we had the most delicious burgers and home-style French fries. The fries are made fresh from potatoes and cooked per order fresh. Needless to say, it was a very large order of potatoes for Gran.

To make our day complete the children wanted ice cream treats so we took them to the Dairy Queen inside our new mall. Yes…we all pigged out on ice cream. : ) Then we went to the play area where Gstormy and Khazy played as we tried to sit, talk and rest for a little while. By this time, the day was coming to an end. Wow, we had made a day filled with excitement, food, fun, togetherness along with many memories.

I wish for you a special Summer day like this one that will fill your life with as much HAPPINESS and JOY as this one did mine.

A Unique Experience

On Valentine's Day I wanted to do something for Khazy and Gstormy that was unexpected and unique from Gran. This early February morning I ventured out to our new mall and visited the Build-A-Bear Workshop. Upon entering the workshop, I asked the two young ladies if they would help me built two of the Red Valentine's Day Sweet Hugs & Kisses Bears. Immediately, they said yes follow us. We selected two bears and moved to the record a sound booth. I recorded a message to each one of my grandchildren in a small backroom in the workshop . 1. "My Sweet Pea Girl...always remember that Gran Loves You." 2. "My Little Man...always remember that Gran Loves You." Now, it was time to pick out a heart for each bear. I kissed the heart and made a special wish for that child. As the bears were filled with stuffing each heart was put into place. Next, we stopped at the air bath/grooming station. We had completed the bear building task now, I had to create each Bear's Birth Certificate. Finally, it was time for purchase where each bear was placed in it's temporary house box. This was a very fulfilling experience for me that added another dimension to memory keeping as a Gran. Later, that afternoon after Gstormy came home from school Khazy and his Mom came over for a Surprise Gift. If you could have seen the amazement on the faces of these two children when they recognized my voice inside of their bears. Times like these are true Happiness ...Oh, the Joy of Being A Gran !
